In the previous blog, we saw that how a CRM technology can help in getting leads and smoothen the pre-sales process. Here, we shall see how an ideal and well-integrated CRM, ERP or a Warehouse Management software should help in fulfilling orders of customers. This is the Phase 2 of the sales process. Fulfilling orders of customers consists of ordering raw materials, keeping track of the manufacturing process, placing shipment order in the right quantities, tracking the shipment and applying the right taxation.
A well-integrated software should perform the following activities-
- Ordering raw materials: The system should co-ordinate between the company and the vendor to order raw materials. Once the raw materials are received, the system should be able to keep a record of the inventory. The system should segregate faulty raw materials and the appropriate ones to manufacture the product through Industry 4.0 technology.
- Keep a track of the manufacturing process: The system should be able to track the products in each manufacturing stage. In this way, the system can cross-check the raw materials used with the output.
- Placing shipment: Once the goods are ready, the company should be able to place shipment at the right location with the right quantities. This is a very crucial stage, where there are high chances that a manual process can make errors. The system should also auto communicate to the parties about the shipment status through SMS/Email/ WhatsApp facilities. Communication builds trust and credibility of the company.
- Tracking the shipment: The technology of the system should not be limited to placing the order, but also tracking it, till the time it is delivered. Tracking should show the time and date of getting delivered to the company as well as the parties.
- Applying the right taxation: The system should be updated with the changing tax policies and should apply the same on the goods dispatched.
