A Kumbh Mela is a very important aspect of Indian Mythology. It was said that when demons and Gods were fighting over the nectar, Lord Vishnu flew away with the pot of nectar and spill drops of nectar at Nasik, Ujjain, Hardwar and Prayag, where we now celebrate the Kumbh Melas. It is celebrated with great show and pomp. A Kumbh Mela happens every twelve years and it will happen this year i.e. 2015 from 14th July to 25th September
